Deuce |
We began treating them for parvo but unfortunately both continued to deteriorate and we lost Dibbs on Thursday. He passed peacefully surrounded by loving staff at Animal Care Clinic. On Thursday afternoon one of our volunteers went to pick him up at the clinic and transport him to the Tribal Police garage where Leech Lake Legacy volunteers were beginning to set up for our May spay/neuter and wellness clinic. We opted to bring him to the garage and set up a quarantine area where he could receive round the clock care. Dr. Kruck of Kindest Cut and volunteer vet Dr. Pierce Fleming of Plymouth Heights Pet Hospital were able to check him out and set him up to receive IV fluids. Unfortunately Deuce's frail body could not fight the parvo virus, and by Saturday early morning he crossed over into the spirit world.
Both Deuce and Dibbs will remain forever in our hearts.

In one of the stars I shall be living In one of them I shall be laughing And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing when you look at the sky at night ~ The Little Prince (Antoine de Saint-Exupery) Deuce and Dibbs .... rest in peace. May your spirits soar free and may you dance and play in the heavens. |
